I recently dug up some old sketches and drawings, some I want to finish, others are fine as is. In the coming weeks I'll post some of these, consider it a trip down memory lane.

Hand Me My Leather

Since Mid-Atlantic leather wasn't too long ago here in the district I thought I'd post this image. A newspaper I was working for wanted an illustration for an article representing the brotherhood of leather.
It was in no way to demean, poke fun or sexualize the act of men tying each other up and dressing in leather. It's meant to promote the comaraderie and brotherhood of the activity. So here we have a very benign image of men in leather pants and cuffs.
I've since lost the source file for this (it was even in color!) but I managed to dig up a black and white laser print of it. I think it looks rather striking in grayscale however, so I'm not too worried.

Hope everyone is getting it together for the holidays! Sometimes a piece of cardboard is just staring you in the face and you have to draw something on it. Well, it happens to me at least. Enjoy!

Wind

So I just missed the deadline for the Illustration Friday topic this week, but I'm really pleased with how this is turning out, so I'm going to show it anyway.

October 31st

C'mon folks, October 31st is not an excuse to wear cheap ears on your head and call it a costume. We need complete transformations here! Don't just wear a plastic viking hat from walmart and tell me you're a viking. Without some sort of animal hide and/or a beard I'm not convinced. You're not a devil if you have horns and a stuffed red sock sticking out of the back of your pants. Give it some effort people! Body paint! full outfits! latex noses! if you just want to accessorize a la halloween, wear a "kittens frolicking around a jack-o-lantern" sweatshirt or an I ♥ pumpkins button or something. We need a little more gusto (ghosto?) on all hallow's eve!
